Just a spoonful of sugar....
All in all, it has been a good weekend. Thanks to the internet being out, I spent a good amount of time playing on the wii with hubby and kids, which normally does not happen. They usually hang out downstairs playing WoW and xbox games, while the shorty and I stay upstairs and watch movies or kid shows, or read books.
Instead, we all hung out together. That was nice.
Friday night's ER visit - not nice. 5 stitches and horrendous bruising for babygirl's face are not my idea of a good time. Also not my idea of a good time - kids barfing all over the room, and another kid coughing directly on my bleeding babygirl. But, we survived.
Today was the day the tech was supposed to come fix our internet. He came. He agreed it was broken. He did not have any replacement modems. He did not fix the matter. So...after much frustration, we just went out and bought a new modem, which WE COULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE (and not been without internet all weekend!).
I use all caps...but really, it was fine. We had a good time watching old dvds together and playing on the wii. It's just KNOWING you can't play on the internet when you want to...it's a bummer. More importantly, though - it is the difference between hubby being able to do his job from home when he has off-hours stuff to do, and having to drive downtown to do it. I'm thankful we got the modem in time for him to do the work here.
School starts this week. I'm always happy and sad when the kids go back. As much as they may drive me batty sometimes, I do enjoy having them around, and we always miss them when they're gone all day.
We also get to have a new buddy around a couple of days a week for babygirl to play with. We'll do that at least until the new job starts full time, so that should be interesting!
Now - tonight's challenge - how to get Miss Boo washed up without getting her stitches wet. It would be no challenge if she wasn't half fish. She LOVES 'swimming' in the bathtub, so it will be a downer to tell her no, she can't.
