The Nutshell Version of the Previous Post:

1.) I wish I had the guts to actually bow out of 'giftmas'.  I wish I did not feel pressured to give my children (and husband) gifts to make them feel spoiled at Christmas.

2.) I wish I didn't feel like I was somehow being a bad parent for wanting to not perpetuate the Santa myth with my youngest.

3.) I wish I didn't feel like a bad parent for perpetuating the Santa myth with my youngest.

4.) Yes, 2 and 3 are completely opposite.  Damned if you do, damned if you don't, so to speak.

5.) I wish my kids and I really focused on Jesus at Christmas, not just on gifts.  Even if they are small, inexpensive, needed, and meaningful - it's still stuff.

  1. We never did the Santa thing with Sky. She seems to have come through it OK :)
