Must be broken...

...not interested in the cheese!

Had a super fun day with K...we went shopping, I finally got my nails fixed (4 weeks...about 2 weeks too long!)  I'm kind of up in the air about the acryllics...Z loves the look of them, so I am keeping them on for him.  I like the look, but the upkeep is annoying.  Breaking them off...even more annoying.  But - my nails naturally are SUPER thin...hard to grow them out much, and they are always super brittle and break easily.  SO...at least for a little while longer I'll keep them.  They'll look nice for the holidays, anyway.

More than that though, I got to snuggle with C and K this morning, after listening to them snuggling and giggling in C's room.  It is SO nice to have her home.  It was rough getting her here yesterday, since she hasn't driven much in the snow, and we had a huge storm, but...she's here, and will be for 2 weeks, and that's all that matters!  Once she goes back it's going to be a mad rush for a few months getting everything in place for their Nicaragua trip.  SO excited for that.  They had a great time down at HopeFaith ministries in KC.  That's not even the tip of the iceberg in terms of what they'll see in Nicaragua.  That will be a rough six weeks though.  I have been pretty good about following the leadership school's guidelines in terms of parent contact, but when we've gone close to a week and I haven't heard or seen her, it gets really hard.  I know she's fine...it's just nice to be able to hug your kid whenever you want!  Or at least bug her in a text message!

I am trying to get her to start blogging, rather than just writing letters.  She ends up having to tell her stories so many times, she starts shortening and leaving out details!

Tomorrow we have our first Christmas celebrations.  Brunch with my mom is first, and then a late lunch with my in-laws. If I am lucky, I will be able to get time off work for the lunch, but we'll see.

Sunday will be quiet...church, lunch, and work, and then on Monday, I have to work for awhile, then we'll go to church, and then my big family get together!  I'm excited...but a little anxious too.  I know it's silly, but I am kind of holding my breath to see what the first Christmas without Grandma will be like.  It's certain we'll all feel her absence, but hopefully, we can kick it up a little, and really celebrate the REAL 'reason for the season'.

Speaking of which, Walmart has a baby Jesus Birthday cake.  Like...it actually has baby Jesus on it.  Had it not been $24, we would totally have gotten it!  Hah!

OH YEAH...and my mom actually has asked my husband to make the turkey for the SECOND holiday in a row.  I know it's cold outside, but I'm wondering if something has frozen over down south! ;-)
